*Brochure on Assistance/Services
-The California Emergency Management Agency has issued a comprehensive brochure to provide information on assistance and services for disaster recovery for those impacted by the fires.
*Emergency Relief Available to Taxpayers
-The State Board of Equalization has announced that extensions for filing, audits, billing, notices, assessments and relief from subsequent penalties are available for businesses and individuals impacted by the wildfires.
*Air Quality is Unhealthy
-Due to the fires burning in Southern California, air quality is adversely affected in several parts of Los Angeles County. Residents should take precautions when outdoors in areas where there may be visible smoke or an odor of smoke.
*Flags flying at half-mast for fallen firefighters
The Board of Supervisors has ordered that County flags on all County buildings be lowered to half-staff in memory of the two Los Angeles County firefighters -- Arnaldo "Arnie" Quinones and Tedmund "Ted" Hall -- who were killed in the line of duty on Sunday, August 30 during the Station Fire. The flags will remain lowered until the end of the day of the scheduled funeral services.
