COMMUNITY GARDEN WILL BE ADJACENT TO THE ANTELOPE VALLEY SENIOR CENTER

September 28, 2010——The Board of Supervisors approved the cost free donation of a  vacant 3,000 square-foot parcel adjacent to the Antelope Valley Senior Center as the site of a proposed community garden, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

“This project is the result of community requests and the City’s desire to create a healthier and more livable environment in the newly renovated downtown area," said Antonovich.  "Once implemented, the community garden will be funded, managed, and operated through a joint partnership between the City of Lancaster and the Lancaster West Rotary Club.
