Description: January 27, 2010—Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich meet with Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Larry Mankin; John Shaffery, Chairman of the Board; William "Bill" Kennedy, Immediate Past President, and Don Fleming, President of the Santa Clarita Valley Auto Dealers Association; on creating jobs and business opportunities in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Supervisor Antonovich allocated $200k toward the Chamber’s Economic Development Corporation, a 501c3 non-profit. The funds will be utilized for the marketing of:
- The “Think SCV” project -- which encourages Santa Clarita Valley residents to spend and shop locally
- Job training programs
- Marketing of the Santa Clarita Enterprise Zone
- Relocation outreach and assistance for industrial and commercial businesses
