February 7, 2010—Supervisor Mike Antonovich joined Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Congressman David Dreier, Assemblyman Anthony Portantino, La Canada Flintridge Mayor Mayor Laura Olhasso, La Canada Flintridge Councilman Steve Del Guercio, and Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian in touring the mudslide devastated community of Paradise Valley in La Canada.

DEDICATION OF NEW LA CRESCENTA LIBRARY
January 29, 2010—Los Angeles County Supervisor Antonovich presided over the official dedication ceremony of the new La Crescenta Library. At a cost of nearly $15 million allocated by Supervisor Antonovich’s office, the County library is a 15,000-square-foot, two-story state-of-the-art facility that features separate adult and children’s sections with an expanded collection of books and materials, a community meeting room, group study rooms, 20 additional public Internet computers and free WiFi access for laptop users.

CREATING JOBS AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
January 27, 2010—Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich meet with Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Larry Mankin; John Shaffery, Chairman of the Board; William "Bill" Kennedy, Immediate Past President, and Don Fleming, President of the Santa Clarita Valley Auto Dealers Association; on creating jobs and business opportunities in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Supervisor Antonovich allocated $200k toward the Chamber’s Economic Development Corporation, a 501c3 non-profit. The funds will be utilized for the marketing of:
-The “Think SCV” project -- which encourages Santa Clarita Valley residents to spend and shop locally
-Job training programs
-Marketing of the Santa Clarita Enterprise Zone
-Relocation outreach and assistance for industrial and commercial businesses

ANTONOVICH JOINS GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER TO DISCUSS STORMS
January 22, 2010—Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich joined Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, and local officials at the County's Emergency Management Center to discuss the State of Emergency declared for the Counties of Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside due to the storms.
The declaration will:
-Waive regulations which may hinder response and recovery efforts;
-Make recovery assistance available under the California Disaster Assistance Act;
-Expedite access to federal resources and disaster relief programs, including the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
